Eben started learning the violin at the age of 9. At 16, he attained the Associate Diploma in Violin Recital (Distinction) from the Trinity College of London. He was under the tutelage of Yap Ling, Malgorzata Potocka, Liu Jian, former co-concertmaster of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO), and Xiaoqing Yu, concertmaster of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra at Lee University (USA).

In 2006, he was successfully selected as a member of the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (MPYO) under the baton of Kevin Field. He performed in all the concerts held by MPYO including a national tour of the major cities in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore. In 2010, he was selected as 2nd violin co-principal.

Being a versatile string player, Eben also picked up the viola and in 2011 was selected as viola principal of the MPYO. In December 2011, he was one of the 15 musicians selected from the MPYO to play side by side with the MPO under principal conductor Claus Peter Flor. In addition, he was a founding member of the Kuala Lumpur String Project, a string ensemble led by MPO musicians.

In 2012, Eben participated in Brevard Music Center Summer Institutute & Festival under the coaching of Dr. Maria Sampen.
