Ann perreau’s is a special place where a child can discover the joys & beauty of music in an environment that stimulates their natural curiosity to learn.

Founded by Ann Perreau in 1980 under the name APMS (Ann Perreau Music Studios), this institution has rooted itself in the belief that music can enhance any child’s ability to succeed in life.

Over 30 years, the teachers of ann perreau’s have shaped the musical landscape of Kuala Lumpur’s children & led them to the very best musical institutions in the world including the Royal College London, the Royal Accademy London, the Julliard New York, Wells Cathedral School in England & even the prestigious Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra.

The focus in ann perreau’s is on the love for music. In Ann’s words, “Through my years of experience, I have realized that following a system that consists only of examinations on graded theory papers and three pieces a year can dull a child’s interest in music. Therefore in 1998, I created a different teaching method called ‘Specialist Music Training’. It is something that brings out the love for music in a child more effectively. Children that are enrolled for the course are enriched with exposures to various aspects of music making, music history, the aesthetics of sound, knowledge of repertoire, performing experiences and ensemble & orchestral playing”.

With a loyal group of teachers (many of whom were Ann’s students and have taught at the school for more than 10 years) ann perreau’s promises to expose your child to a whole new world of music.

In April 2009 Vivian Chua, a student and teacher of Ann’s stepped up to the role of principal of ann perreau’s. An accomplished composer & arranger of orchestral music her vision of reaching a new generation of Malaysians & touching their lives in the spirit of Ann Perreau will continue to keep the passion for music in many children burning.
